Soap Making Workshop

We recently had an amazing time introducing soap making and organizing the workshops with the Bidayuh, Kelabit, and Lun Bawang community. These three communities were selected as they have been supplying essential oil of LitSara®, a key ingredient we will use to perfume the soap. This workshop was aimed at empowering the community with the skills to develop their entrepreneurship in the cottage industry.

As part of the workshop, we conveniently use LitSara®, a unique essential oil derived from the leaves of the Tenem/Pahkak (Litsea cubeba) tree, which is found in highlands of Borneo. Traditionally, these communities use the fruit in their cooking, as medication for stomach ailments and leaves to treat backaches. The aroma of LitSara® essential oil is uplifting, invigorating, and refreshing, making it a way to market the benefits of the products.

Overall, the soap making workshop was a great experience for everyone involved. We are grateful for the opportunity to work with a wonderful group of people and to share our common passion for LitSara® oil Thank you to everyone who participated, and we look forward to working with you again in the future!
